Terry Zwigoff's screwball black comedy starring Billy Bob Thornton as Willie Stokes - the sleaziest Santa the screen has ever seen. When he's not knocking back quarts of cheap glog, he's knocking off department stores with his pint-sized partner in crime - and we haven't even got to his attitude to the kids who come to sit on his knee. But after a botched robbery leaves our antihero stuck with a young lad who just happens to believe him to be the real Father Christmas, Willie begins to see a different side to the festive season. Bad Santa is vulgar and foul-mouthed, yet somehow manages to capture all that is right about Christmas. Not bad for a film featuring a dwarf kicking a child in the testicles.
