Ridley Scott’s Thelma & Louise is a female-led rollercoaster ride of a road movie. Anyone who wants to jump in a fast car, hit the road and escape the lame Valentines schmaltz, with a film a little darker - this one’s for you.

THE MOVIE

Join us to celebrate (in the words of the late, great Roger Ebert) “two carefree souls piling into a 1956 T-Bird and driving out of town to have some fun and raise some hell”. We join Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis as they take off for a girls’ weekend away (Thelma is so frightened of her husband she leaves him a note rather than tell him). They’re almost looking to get into trouble - winding up in a saloon not too many miles down the road, and Thelma, a wild woman after a couple of margaritas, beginning to get caught up in lust after a couple of dances with an urban cowboy. Things get seriously out of hand and the two friends are forced to hit the road for real. With a fabulous soundtrack and great supporting performances from a husky Michael Madsen, a young Brad Pitt and an unusually compassionate Harvey Keitel.

THE EVENT

Setting up our screen in the most secluded and welcoming venue in Hyde Park, pull up a chair and join Thelma and Louise as they hit the road to have some fun.

A glass of prosecco and a chocolate or two will get you in the mood as you step into the underfloor-heated, treehouse-inspired LookOut in the heart of the Park, but don’t miss the dance space in the Gatehouse, complete with atmospheric lighting and disco glitterball. Or the firepits, where you can toast marshmallowy treats to your heart’s content. Head inside to try your hand at creating a silhouette portrait, or simply stock up on drinks and snacks before the film. Headscarves and sunglasses definitely encouraged…
