The Nomad Cinema and Old Street partnership have teamed up with live score musical geniuses The Cabinet of Living Cinema, to create a chilling performance of F.W Murnau’s original Dracula film, Nosferatu. Despite this being an 80 year old masterpiece, Max Schreck’s performance in this title role is enough to still set spines a tingling and hearts racing.

This classic is scored for the first time by inspired live score musicians- the Cabinet of Living Cinema who recently produced the masterful live score for The Cabinet of Dr Caligari. This Halloween-tide, Nosferatu is brought to life through the live score and the interactive playful nature as film inspires timbre, harmony and texture.

The Cabinet of Living Cinema create live cinema events in unusual and inspiring locations.  They have scored films by Svankmajer, Jodorowsky, Fritz Lang, Eisenstein and Paradjanov using loop pedals, “found object foley” and orchestral instruments. Their score to 'Nosferatu' offers a contemporary take on the silent film score, capturing both the nightmarish and experimental atmosphere of this legendary expressionist masterpiece.

The screening takes place within the walls of the beautiful, deconsecrated Old Street Church, St Luke’s. Now the home for the London Symphony Orchestra this space is regularly filled with music from the muses. Under this architectural beacon of Old Street, with its spire that rivals the heights of the more contemporary buildings, lies a crypt of over 1000 burials

Experience this unique screening over the former souls of Old Street-our very own Old Street Symphony of Horror!

The film will be a live musical performance over the original film.

This Screening is supported by The Old Street Partnership.
