"Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" Join us at Queen's Park for Baz Luhrmann’s contemporary adaptation of literature's most famous and tragic love story. Taking the original tale and placing it in a modern setting, the children of two warring business empires (Leonardo DiCaprio's Romeo and Claire Danes' Juliet) fall in love with innocence, unaware of the devastating consequences that are to follow.

Relocated from fair Verona to Verona Beach, USA, this vibrant and zeitgeisty mid-90s adaptation retains the bard's original dialogue, performed with gusto by a hip young cast and set to a perfectly-pitched soundtrack including Radiohead, The Cardigans, Des'ree and Garbage. The film is studded with fantastic supporting performances from John Leguizamo, Harold Perrineau, Pete Postlethwaite, Miriam Margolyes and many more.

1000 Londoners;
