Top Gun [1986]
I feel the need, the need for speed…
Join us at Grosvenor's Summer in the Square festival and the very first year of the Grosvenor Film Festival in association with Chesterton Humberts.
This was the film that shot both its star, Tom Cruise, and its late, great director, Tony Scott, into the Hollywood Blockbuster fast lane.
Tom Cruise was the hunky heart-throb who took our breath away as he swept Kelly McGillis off her feet in this stalwart of mid-80s cinema. Top Gun is one of those rare films that appeals equally to guys (adrenalin, bromance), girls (men in uniform, romance) and action-loving young'ns. So gather your wingmen, wingwomen and wing cadets, then head to Grosvenor Square this summer as we present a very special open-air screening in this jet-fuelled favourite.
Cubitt House, responsible for perennially popular restaurants including The Thomas Cubitt (Elizabeth Street) and The Grazing Goat (Marble Arch) will be on site from 8pm, serving up top gastro-pub food, popcorn and a selection of drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) from a Vintage Citroen H Van.
