Vertigo 1958
One final thing I have to do… and then I’ll be free of the past.
Citypoint, a 36 storey landmark tower in the heart of London's Square Mile, will host screenings this June before undergoing extensive refurbishment works to the public realm. Sponsored by Brookfield, there will be a screen showing Queens Tennis in the day for free, along with the opportunity to purchase street food from the Meating Point Traders.
Brookfield have kindly gifted all proceeds from ticket sales to Nomad Cinema's chosen charity, the Sustainability Institute in South Africa.
Topping critics 'Best Of...' film lists everywhere, Vertigo is heavyweight Hitchcock. The formula of the story, a twist on the Hollywood staple, was ironically summed up by Hitchcock as "boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy meets girl again, boy loses girl again", however opinion spirals about this intricate thriller and it defies expectation, morphing with every watch. Called by Rhik Samadder “hypnotic, mad and maddening”, Vertigo evades definition and remains one of the most compelling films of all time.
All tickets include a seat and Wi-Fi headphones that will be distributed at the screening Box Office. This will be shown on an LED screen as this film is part of a series of screenings in the plaza throughout the day and night.
