The Nomad Cinema

We’re Back!

Roll up! Roll up! Come on down! It’s official: The summer starts here. Our tickets are on sale NOW.

STOP PRESS! We are delighted to announce that Hylands House, a stunning Grade II listed property situated in 574 acres of historic landscaped parkland in Chelmsford, will be rolling out the Royal Nomad Open Air Cinema Kit for their Jubilee Weekend celebrations!

Over the summer we will be showing the good, the bad and the ugly of the cinema world at the weird and wonderful locations you have come to expect from The Nomad. On top of this we will be going WILD at Bestival this year in the brand new Ambient Forest amphitheatre!

We couldn’t let the Diamond Jubilee go by without honouring good old HRH Liz on the big screen. Over the Jubilee weekend we shall be showing The King’s Speech in Queen’s Park on 2nd June - completely free!! A film about the King, in the Queen’s Park, with no need to carry any money on your person. You can’t get more royal than that on a Saturday night!

As Queen’s Park is so close to our hearts, not to mention our big sister The Lexi, we will be hosting three very different films for equally wonderful nights. Drawing from three different decades, we present the 80s childhood classic The Goonies, 60s gem The Graduate and cult stoner movie The Big Lebowski from the grungy 90s.

True to Nomad form, it’s not just about the movies - which is why we have lined up an exciting new food partnership with The Salt Yard Group - a wonderful company of restaurants based in Central London who will be on site to whip up food that is guaranteed to melt in your mouth.

No new cinema season would be complete without at least one brand new film and who better to make a star turn than the hugely successful and entirely magical, award-winner The Artist. We think Fulham Palace is the perfect grand setting for a film of such high calibre. As part of our ‘Love in the Garden’ theme, Fulham Palace will also be our star-cross’d backdrop for Romeo + Juliet and Casablanca.

Heeeeere’s Johnny! The pairing of Stanley Kubrick, the master of nightmares, with Jack Nicholson on eye-poppingly crazed form, was a surefire recipe for madness and mayhem. And where better to watch this nerve-jangling chiller than in a graveyard, after dark? Join us at Brompton Cemetery to witness the horrors, if you dare…

The 80s produced some pretty terrible things; bad hair, bad clothes, bad music. Last season you guys went crazy for our retro cheesy films so we’re rolling out some classics. This summer we present Top Gun at Roundwood Park. Every Nomad needs a wingman (or wingwoman) so make sure you buy them a ticket before they sell out! If you’d prefer to bring a wing cadet then you’ll be thrilled to learn that you can get your hands on free kids’ tickets!
