Pop-up cinema screening of The Big Lebowski at Whiteleys Shopping Centre. The Nomad Cinema presents the Coen Brothers’ comedy classic for a bargain £8 per ticket.
One of the biggest cult films of the 90s, this dudefest is two hours of grin-inducing offbeat comedy and memorable one-liners. Written and directed by the Coen brothers, The Big Lebowski stars an impressive cast of Coen regulars, including Jeff Bridges as The Dude, plus Philip Seymour Hoffman and Julianne Moore. A case of mistaken identity takes a series of increasingly amusing turns with a bit of ten-pin bowling thrown in for good measure, all to a soundtrack of Bob Dylan, Captain Beefheart, Nina Simone and other unexpected musical bedfellows. Chill in your dressing gown with a White Russian at Whiteleys, which handily also houses All Star Lanes bowling alley if the film puts you in the mood for some post-screening skittle smashing. Sweet.
This winter The Nomad Cinema takes up residence at Whiteleys Shopping Centre, screening a mixture of recent releases and classic films from all eras.
