Pop-up cinema screening of Breakfast At Tiffany’s at Whiteleys Shopping Centre. The Nomad Cinema presents Audrey Hepburn’s finest hour for a bargain £8 per ticket.
Ahhh, Audrey Hepburn. Hollywood is short on stars like you. You were dazzlingly beautiful, yet somehow never intimidating, and you had a smile that could light up the night. It’s you who makes Breakfast At Tiffany’s. We coo and weep as we watch you struggle to find true love in the city that never sleeps. We boo when Mickey Rooney turns up and we cheer when Hannibal from the A-Team works his magic. When we see you looking dewey-eyed, cigarette holder in elegantly gloved hand, we reach for our battered 10-deck of Lambert & Butler king-size menthols and realise that no matter how hard we try, we’ll never look quite as beautiful as you.
This winter The Nomad Cinema takes up residence at Whiteleys Shopping Centre, screening a mixture of recent releases and classic films from all eras.
* This new pop-up cinema concept, created by FITCH and The Nomad, can be found in the space vacated by Books Etc.
* Cinematic décor comes courtesy of an exhibition of vintage film posters from The Reel Picture Company.
* The Vestal Vodka pop-up bar will serve curated cocktails, wine, beer and popcorn, with ice cream available from the Oddono’s Gelati stall (only food and drink bought on site is allowed in the cinema).
* The most unusual cinema seating you’ll ever experience includes beanbags, inflatable wedges, directors chairs and garden benches, plus there’s tiered seating for the more traditional among you.
*And if you spend £10 or more at one of Whiteleys’ restaurants, you’ll be given a voucher that can be exchanged for one free cinema ticket (subject to availability).
