We’re setting up shop in The Hox’s ‘Apartment’ for the third in our series of monthly ‘Slackers Movie Lounge‘ screenings.

Ryan Gosling plays a stunt driver with a shady past and nothing to lose in this achingly cool love story of a quiet man turned avenging angel.

The mysterious Driver at the heart of this pulp noir thriller will cross any line to protect the woman he loves (Carey Mulligan), and her only child, when her jail bird husband lands the family in trouble with some very serious people. Gangland money and a heist gone wrong accelerate this neon fairy tale (LA has never looked so good) into an uber violent revenge fantasy.

This is director Nicolas Winding Refyn’s hymn to the City of Angels, and to his leading man, all set against a shimmering synth soundtrack.
