Ever wanted to see one of the most stunning Baz Luhrmann films ever, while sitting in the magnificent gardens of a Grade I listed building in Soho? Experience Moulin Rouge in the heart of what was London’s very historic French Quarter and imagine you’re in Montmartre! Surrounded by ivy-covered walls, our newest venue, The House of St Barnabas, is an intimate and exclusive place you might never otherwise stumble upon.

This film from pop-music-obsessed Luhrmann tweaks the conventions of the musical genre by mixing a period romance with anachronistic dialogue and songs. Ewan McGregor stars as Christian, who meets the absinthe- and alcohol-addicted Toulouse-Lautrec (John Leguizamo) at The Moulin Rouge dance hall in 1890s Montmartre. Star courtesan Satine (Nicole Kidman) becomes the star of the play Christian is writing, which parallels the couple’s romance and uses music from a century later, including songs by Nirvana, Madonna, the Beatles, and Queen.

Tickets include not only the chance to see this great film in a unique setting, but also a complimentary drink and delicious nibbles on arrival, courtesy of delicious catering partners Bubble Food.

Please note: the audio for this screening will be via wireless headphones, due to sound restrictions in the garden and to give you optimal sound quality.
