The Nomad Cinema is proud to joining forces with the funny folk behind the annual Bromley Comedy fest to bring you an under-the-stars screening of a British comedy classic.
We’ve all got our favourite Monty Python moment. Even those who claim not to like Monty Python secretly have a favourite Monty Python moment. It’s been discussed in great length at the Nomad HQ and we’ve decided that our favourite Monty Python moment is Monty Python’s Life Of Brian. You may argue that a 94 minute movie cannot constitute a ‘moment’, but who are you to judge the length a moment? Is time not relative? In the Tibetan plains your favourite roamin’ movie merchants call home, 94 minutes is like a lifetime.
The 94 guffawsome minutes of Life Of Brian positively whizz by. It’s a real treat to see the Pythons perfectly transcend their TV roots and bring us something legitimately cinematic, a film ready to combine pointed criticism of organised religion (a daring act back in 1979) with poo jokes and characters with names like Biggus Dickus (teehee).
The incidental characters are among the best the Python’s created (we’re talking about Biggus Dickus again) and any film that ends with a singalong mass crucifiction has got to be special. If you decide to join us at Bromley’s magnificent amphitheatre, bring a jumper and your laughing boots. You’ll need them.
PLEASE NOTE: The tickets without seats may have slightly restricted viewing. No chairs to be brought. Blanket and Cushions only.
No food and drink, food and drink vendors will be at the venue.
