Part I of our two-night run at Lulworth Castle - and you’re warmly invited to both. After Pirates on Thursday, we’ll be back again on Friday night for The Rocky Horror Picture Show…
Picture the scene: it’s a glorious summer’s eve, in the grounds of one of Britain’s most beautiful castles, nestled deep within the rolling hills of Dorset. You’ve swept the crumbs off the picnic blanket and now recline, a glass of wine in hand, as the sun begins to set and the evening’s entertainment begins… Overlooking Smugglers’ Cove, what better place to have your buckles swashed and your shivers timbered by a screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, the first of two evenings of cinematic entertainment we have planned at this glorious slice of historical beauty. Gore Verbinski’s epic tale of action, romance and adventure sees Orlando Bloom’s lowly yet resourceful blacksmith form an uneasy alliance with Jonny Depp’s cheeky pirate Jack Sparrow and set sail for the high seas in a quest to save the love of his life (Keira Knightley) from the nefarious Captain Barbossa and his band of undead pirates who, coincidentally, have half-inched Captain Jack’s titular vessel.
We’ll have finest fish and chips on sale, prizes for the best dressed pirates and a charity raffle with a handsome bounty to be won. So wrap a bandana round your noggin, slap on your eyeliner and slip on your long-johns (for we all know the perils of a British summer’s eve) and join us for what promises to be a special evening of cinema fun. We’re a kind bunch here on the good ship Nomad, so expect a couple of surprises thrown into the mix to help heighten your viewing pleasure.
Fancy a Lulworth double-header? Then slip out of your Pirate outfit and into your stockings and suspenders, because the next evening (Friday 12 August) you’re invited back to the castle for a special screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Oh yes.
