“The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.”

Who is Keyser Söze? Seriously, who is that dude? It’s the question that has been repeated again and again since the release of Bryan Singer’s landmark thriller in 1995.

A masterpiece of the modern noir genre, it tells the story of five career crooks flung together in a police line-up, who decide to carry out a run-of-the-mill jewel heist for a bit of quick money- cha-ching! But these fellows end up on the wrong side of the aforementioned Söze, who happens to be the meanest and most cunning criminal mastermind ever.

In the role that really shot him to fame, the film revolves around Kevin Spacey (American Beauty, LA Confidential, Moon, House of Cards) as the main teller of tales, and also stars a young Benicio Del Toro (Che, 21 Grams, Traffic, Sin City) as well as Gabriel Byrne, Pete Postlethwaite, Giancarlo Esposito and a whole ensemble of terrific talents.

This crime caper is set apart from the rest due to Singer’s super slick direction, the plot’s twsits ‘n’ turns, and its superb character-driven performances. With plenty of violence and naughty words, this is definitely not one for the kids!

This screening is presented by MGM HD: Bringing a taste of LA to the UK this summer #HollywoodDrive In association with Air New Zealand
