When hot-headed Max first got sent to his room in Maurice Sendak’s bedtime classic, he had no idea of the adventure he was about embark on, nor that it would enthral and excite children for decades to follow. The treasured book has now been adapted by Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich; Adaptation) and with his trademark quirkiness, Jonze has infused this story of bravery and delight with a stunningly beautiful earthiness and a raw emotional edge to create a new masterpiece of its own.
The film charts as Max delves into a world of his imagining where he encounters the Wild Things, (voiced by a whole gang of talents such as Mark ‘The Gruffalo’ Ruffalo, James Gandolfini, Catherine Keener, Forest Whitaker and Paul Dano) who crown Max as their king.
Come and join us for this wild rumpus in the woods as we set up camp for one night in the woods of the Coram Secret Garden for an enchanting evening of film, food and fun - part of our Childhood, Lost and Found series. Once the sun goes down it’s time to get in your onesie and ROAR!
